I had Win7 Starter - the Home Premium upgrade gave me everything I need (after studying the different 7 versions carefully).
It runs fine with 1 GB.

jackski - I believe Win 7 Home Premium is the version to go for. This comparison chart shows the major differences between the versions
IMHO the extra expense for Professional or Ultimate is not worth it. You can achieve Bitlocker drive encryption for free with Truecrypt and the Virtual mode for XP is not supported by the Atom processor and therefore will not work.
Hope this helps

Had Windows 7 Professional (cheap as I'm a student), then upgraded to Ultimate for BitLocker (also fairly cheaply) as I couldn't be bothered with TrueCrypt again. Note that like the Windows XP Mode which requires hardware virtualisation and so wont work, the netbooks also don't have a TPM for use with BitLocker.
Some uni and corporate networks may need you to have Professional to join the domain. Otherwise I would just go for Home Premium as neither Professional or Ultimate have that many advantages.
Professional = Domain Join + some other networking things.
Ultimate = Professional + BitLocker and language packs.

Just did a clean Install of windows 7 ultimate on N-110.
Work very well so far
did you install any drivers or samsung stuff back on as some people have not, going to go for it today and install 7 home clean install not keeping xp
I installed everything except Update Plus, Support Centre, Network Manager, Recovery Solution (I don't have a recovery partition), Install Guide and the wireless drivers (as I have replaced the card with a different one).
Everything works well, it's nice and fast, and the customised drivers and software have helped improve the battery life a bit.

I'm not sure SRS4 gives a performance hit... and without a Recovery Partition, just use an external drive. I like this software....

You can't install it if it doesn't detect a partition of the correct type. At-least it wont for me.
Not that I'm particularly bothered by not being able to install it.

My Sammy NC-10 came with Windows 7 Starter but since it doesnt allow change desktop wallpaper I installed WIndows 7 Home Basic. I'm very impressed with performance with just 1 GB RAM and now I can change the wallpaper and shound schemes.
