need help lcd ribbon cable needs changing on nc10

got a white screen, but when i wiggle screen around all comes back then goes again, need to change that dodgy lcd ribbon cable, i got the lcd bezel off in the hope it might be a loose connection but it aint. need to get to the other end of cable now where it goes onto motherboard ,how do i get to this?

ty for the info, i did see the disassembly thread but didn't read down far enough for the bit i needed, anyway very easy to take appart, i now await the cable, which is ordered. Since i moved the cable and gave it a wiggle i now have no screen at all but computer boots as normal so must be totally snapped inside now at least i hope it is lol

puddles - You could try repairing the harness cable and checking the screen securing screws to the motherboard connections. As shown in Jazzman's post in the thread above. If successful you would end up with a spare harness or you could consider cancelling the new order?

Just to let everybody know how i went.
harness arrived,fitted it without too much trouble until it came to clipping the plastic bezel bit at the bottom of the screen, it was a right mongrel. my advice is to take exact notes of where the wires run or its hell afterwards, theres not much room in there.
anyway switched her on and vola all working fine, cost me $20 delivered for the wiring harness and i paid $100 for the faulty machine so came out ok really

puddles - Glad it's all fixed now and thanks for reporting back.

Oddly our 18 month old NC10 has developed the same symptoms tonight so I feel a strip down coming on for this weekend

i replaced the one that goes to the large conector on the back of the screen, its just a flat type cable, with an earth connector on the other end aswell.The cable seems to be too tightly pushed up under the hinge,which is where mine broke, on fitting the new one i tried to stick it as low as i could on the back of the screen to take the pressure off where it goes under the hinge

I've seen both BA39-00766A and BA39-00784A being referenced as part numbers for this cable.

Can anyone explain the difference? On the site linked here they're sold as different products.

cm17 - These are some links I was researching on the subject.

BA39-00635A NC10 LCD HARNESS
BA39-00635A Harness Lcd
BA39-00766A HARNESS-LCDWINCHESTER WIRE
BA39-00784A LCD wire
BA39-00784A LCD wire

There appears to be at least three part numbers for the harness. Maybe some are for 10.1 inch screens and some are for 10.2 inch, if in fact they are different, who knows. The only way to be sure is to check the part number on the harness fitted to your machine.
