    better deal,
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-4965-Wirel...#ht_6896wt_885

and would I need to buy an extra antennae or can I use what's already in the computer?

I did search for this info but I could not find anything with the 120 in particular.

    Thanks for the help.

I can't help I'm afraid but I know there have been some posts from N120 owners who have opened up their models. They might help you to see what to expect inside!

If you do go for the mod it would be great if you could let us know what you did and take some pics for the front page blog!

I hope someone can help with the wireless question.

Did you try the Google site search?

Not sure if I'll need the 3 antennae. Hopefully if I do I'll be able to install the 3rd one.

Groan - This thread might be of interest regarding the aerials. It's for the Intel 5300 card but it will be similar for the 4965AGN.

AFAIK the third aerial does not have to be installed but range and 'n' band effectiveness will be affected without it.

Hope this helps and keep us updated if you have the time.

Thanks, I'll likely install the 3rd antenna. I want to make full use of the N.
The antenna install behind the LCD sounds scary., I thought I read of people doing it around the chassis (keyboard area?) which would be easier than taking apart the whole thing.

    EDIT-
    read it here.

i guess you have to be wary of what you buy on eBay. the card looked legit but the 120 would not recognize the new hardware. nothing i could do to make it work.

so alas here i sit with the old card back in.

if anyone is interested in buying the card i got let me know. I wont sell it to you for more than what it costs to ship it to you plus say $5. it's maybe worth an experiment and who knows. maybe i didnt knwo what i was doing and the card is fine.
nothing i can guarantee. im afraid.
shoot me a pM if you are intersted. I took some pics so i can send you shots of the card if you like. comes with 4 antennae. i tried just adding one to the 2 that were already there, tried just using 2, tried them in differnet ports. no luck.

sorry folks. no go this time.

    groan - That's a disappointing result

Assuming the card is functioning then maybe it's a driver issue? But it should have worked in slot 1, so I wonder if it's in fact a hardware incompatibility?

Post the pics if you can, we like seeing those here
