    nc10 black screen on boot up-says unable to find operating system

    Hi need help! NC10 won't boot up goes to black screen, says unable to find operating system. Tried to use recovery (f4) says exactly the same! Anyone got a clue?? Cheers. Ps new recruit to site , keep up the good work..

    Welcome to the forum tonyd51,

    It sounds like either - your HDD is corrupt or dead, or the BIOS is looking at the wrong drive to boot from. Have you a USB stick plugged in?

    hi thanks 4 the reply,no usb plugged in . how do i know which drive the bios is loading from?

    tonyd51 - Welcome to the forum.

    On the [F2] bios boot screen, press enter and look for the hard drive details which should be device No.1 ie. the highest priority.
    If nothing is reported then the HDD is probably u/s.
