    Welcome to the forum Stefan,

It may be unfortunate, but XP will be supported less and less by any manufacturer from now on. Samsung did not sell your N210 with XP so they have no obligation to support it, regardless of the fact that some drivers may work because they are also used for older models.

Someone with an N210 might have some ideas for you though.

    Hello,

I have the same netbook Samsung N210 Plus and also downgraded it to Win XP. All drivers did work, but not the WLAN. The Samsung hotline couldn't help too, they didn't even know this netbook (you can't find it on the german website?!)...

After hours I now found the solution:
I put my Ubuntu CD in the drive and with the Linux the WLAN connection was built up immediately. I found out that there's a Broadcom BCM4311/12/21/22 WLAN adapter in the netbook. (Of course the ATHEROS and REALTEK drivers diodn't work!) After spending hours on google to find a driver that fits, I found this one:

    http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/dri...311/index.html

(I just took the newest one)

Because the setup did not function, i had to install it manually with the Hardware-Manager. I showed the manager exactly the .inf file from the download, and then chose the one named "Broadcom-Netzwerkadapter" without /a/b/g or things like this.

Now it works PERFECTLY, with the broadcom tool as well as with the windows manager.

I hope this can help you.

    Greetings Adrian

    Hi,

thanks alot for this thread, I got myself a N21-Malo as well (from Amazon.de), and I would like to get rid of Win7 Starter as well, leftover XP license is available and no problem at all.

My question is: how does this affect battery life? I.e., do all energy saving options work well under XP? Did you compare that?

How is the overall speed impression of Win7 starter vs. XP? Until now, I feel that XP starter is not that slow at all, but I have no real comparison base, since this is my first netbook What I do hate are the limitations of Win7, for example not being able to select a custom background image by default (I know you can fix that, but how lame is that at all?).

    Kind regards,

    Jackie
