I heard you could add in an additional 1gb of RAM just by opening up the bottom. NOt sure if thats the limit or not.

I have just had a look and there is definitely a ram card installed in the socket underneath, I can not get the cover fully off but can see it in there.

The manual available online at Samsung states 1Gig max which begs the question, assuming it is fully populated already what is the point of the access slot?

There's a video about upgrading the RAM in the http://www.laptopmag.com/advice/how-to/nc10-ram.aspx

there is also one upgrading the HDD.

You can also find some companies offering to upgrade the nc10 at the time of sale.

Thanks for posting that. I will definitely be upgrading to 2gb at some point so will be posting whatever my research throws up. But looks like its possible - I can now see the access panel myself - just one screw away.

If you get the cover off let me know what he trick is, my one seems to be resistant to gentle tugging in all directions

I upgraded my ram and that cover was very difficult it took me a good 8 minutes to pry off. The whole time I was worried the thing would snap! I'm not sure what tips I can give sorry Thankfully I shouldn't have to open it ever again.

My NC10 had no problems detecting the ram in the BIOS or XP but since I upgraded as soon as it was delivered I can't say if it has made any difference. Still for £20 its really a no-brainer upgrade.

I brought the same model as ashesfall from ebuyer, works well in xp and vista and in vista the nc10 is showing approx 63% memory free which was a surprise. Getting the cover off is a pain but you have to be gentle and forcefull if that makes sense
