Help trying to install another OS on my NC10

    hey guys and gals,

I'm stuck and need some help! I want to install the GOS 3 flavour of Linux and make it dual boot with my NC10 and am getting nowhere fast! I went to the GOS website- downloaded the iso- burned the cd and changed the boot sequence in the bios-

i'm using an old xbox 360 hd dvd connected via usb to the nc10- on startup it simply goes to a blank screen with a flashing cursor on the top let....as if its waiting for something but I dont know what it wants! Tried mounting the iso on my mac and copying to a usb stick and installing as well but get no luck.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked that the file you downloaded was not corrupted?
You can do this in OS X by:
    1) Open up the Terminal (under Applications/Utilities)
    2) Type in "md5" without the quotes.
    3) Drag the gOS iso file you downloaded into the Terminal and press enter.
    4) After a while it should give you the md5
    5) If it is "426942f9d73b3968048be5f6eccfaa6a" for gOS 3 then the file is ok.

When you are stuck on the blank screen with the flashing curser, is the optical drive being used?
