    Hi

    Hi All,
    I have just purchased a Sammy NC10.
How can I find out the wi-fi MAC address so that I can set up my wireless router.
    Thank you

you should be able to go into the start menu, accessories, system tools, and command prompt (sorry if im wrong not running xp atm) and if you type in "ipconfig/all" it should display all the information you need to know - if I can remember correctly that is....

    Open up the command line.
    1) Start > Run
    2) enter and run:

    Code:
    cmd
3)Then type the following into the command line and press enter:

    Code:
    ipconfig /all
edit: hah mossmotorsport beat me to it, I'm also not on Windows but the instructions look right. Also welcome to the forum.

    Welcome to the site hunsbury0.

When running ipconfig /all make sure you get the MAC address of the Wireless LAN adaptor and not the LAN adaptor as they will both be listed.

    Hi,
Thank you all. It is up & running now with help received here.
I have noticed a small pin hole & a mark (looks like a scratch?) near top left of the delete key. The mark looks like a "mike" symbol. Please tell me this normal & not a scratch.
I am also after a manbag to carry this. The criteria is:
It should be light weight & able to protect the NC10 from slight movement shocks.
    should have shoulder strap
Only big enough to carry the NC10 on its own ( do not require any extra space for eg mains charger etc as I will only carry it out with the battery fully charged)

How can I install something to open WORD, EXCELL etc?
I have microsoft office on a CD, is just easy as cut & paste to a USB memory stick & will install from the stick? or do I have take some extra steps to enable to do this?

You're right in thinking it looks like a "mic" symbol - it is! The pinhole is where the internal microphone is located.

See this excellent thread here for lots of suggestions for carrying cases for the NC10.

Copying and pasting from the CD onto a USB stick and installing Office from there will work. You could also try a free alternative such as OpenOffice which is compatible with Microsoft Office files (even the latest 2007 .docx .xlsx and .pptx).
