Thread: 2.8 lbs samsung laptop 13.3" - better than nc20 in my opinion

Amazon.com has it for $750 after $300 rebate. It used to be a lot more, and this price seems to be the lowest it could get. Nc20 probably would cost somewhere around there or a little less if it came to us and this seems as good as nc20 or even better in terms or speed and portability. I realize that it's 13.3 inch screen, but it's only 2.8lbs which is same as nc10 ( I don't know how much nc20 weighs). I am seriously considering selling my white nc10 and getting this....but can't justify spending extra $300~350 I will have to spend..

Now, everything's about its weight and portability.

for me actually, getting nc10 was the weight issue. I was fed up with my 5lb full blown laptop.

Can you provide a link? A 2.8 pound 13 inch ultraportable for 700$ seems too good to be true.

That link says it's 1829.97$, I was expecting maybe a special link for 1050$ before the 300$ rebate.

At 300$ rebate, at that price, it comes out as 1529.97$ which is still an amazing price for an ultraportable don't get me wrong, but I doubt you can find a lightweight ultraportrable at 13" for less than 1000$. Lighter material and low processing dual cores are vastly expensive, that's why a netbook is such a great innovation.

deal was alive until about 5PM eastern time today. Amazon had this model on special today (called goldbox or something like that) and the other day had a higher end model (with SSD 120GB) on special.

Hopefully similar deal will come back and I might jump on it as long as it stay close to $700.


before the deal went bad, I think the price was $1049.99 - $300 rebate = $749.99 so that was a heck of a deal considering the original price whether it's marked up too much in the first place, or not.

I was deciding whether I should pull the trigger, but I couldn't make a decision and the deal went bad, luckily, for me.

Was the seller reputable? These units aren't sold by Amazon itself, most of it is from marketplace like TigerDirect, which is just as good. But 750$ seems like a price you'd find from an eBay scammer lol

I think the seller was amazon itself, not some other merchant. So the unbelievable price was pretty legit.
