Yes, it’s almost upon us, it seems only a year ago since last Christmas but here we are again already! Every blog seems to have a pre Christmas post like this, so we didn’t want to be any different!

Here are a couple of suggestions for those looking to buy the perfect tech gift for their husband, wife, girlfriend, hamster, etc. And we’d love to hear what else might be on your wish list for Christmas! So if you’ve googled on into the site wondering what to get a netbook owner for Christmas, hopefully this post will help!

Christmas Present Ideas for Netbook fans

  1. Netbooks for Dummies: Look, I’m not making any comment on the average SammyNetbook reader here, but if you’ve bought a netbook for a less technological friend or relative then why not follow it up with a handy guide. UK | USA
  2. Mobile Broadband: The perfect match for a mobile PC! I’ve had mobile broadband for a year now and although (imo) it is not comparable to a home high speed line it is certainly a great feature to have. With the new WiFi dongles (aka MiFi) now available I will be upgrading for sure when my current deal runs out. UK
  3. TV Tuner: With a small USB dongle you can add a TV tuner to your netbook turning it into a portable television. Plenty of forum users have reported using these devices successfully on their Samsung NC10, allowing them to watch and even record programmes. UK
  4. Windows 7: Our big Windows 7 post last month covers everything you need to know about the new operating system from Mircrosoft. Why not upgrade from the default XP installation to Win7! UK | USA
  5. SSD Drive: Turbo charge your sammy with a solid state drive, check out this SSD post to see what kind of difference it can make. Although SSD drives still require big budgets, prices are dropping and this should become a more realistic upgrade option for many.
  6. Headphones: Although later netbooks from Samsung have better speakers, those with discerning taste or those using their netbook on the train will probably want to get a good pair of head phones. How about the well regarded Sennheiser range… UK | USA
  7. USB Key Drives: Backing up data is an essential task that all too many of us ignore until it is too late. We all love that netbooks are small and portable but this means the chances of misplacing it are higher than the average desktop PC! Get a large capacity USB drive to backup that data! UK | USA
  8. Laptop Skin: So Samsung Netbooks come in a great range of colours, but what if you want something a little more distinctive? Time to check out some netbook skins! UK
  9. Laptop Bag: Carry around that new netbook in style, with plenty of bags and cases on the market there is something for everyone. Remember to check you get the right size for your model! UK | USA
  10. A Samsung N510: The super charged ION based Samsung Netbook has been available around Europe for a while and should be in US shops in time for Christmas! UK

Update: N510 now available in the US via Newegg!

So what’s on your wish list?

n120 is down to $319 over here on u.s. Amazon and my favorite, the n110 is $325 at newegg…

if they get to be less than $250 i think i will buy several…how many years before a $100 netbook for the OLPC?

(cant see why they charging $599 for the n510 – is it the nvidia graphics? – not much of a bump on the HDD and the extra 1 gb ram is cheap anyway)
