Last week I highlighted Amazon’s black NC10 page on the blog. It seems Newegg have removed their placeholder and are taking orders – does this mean it is now available to buy in the US? It seems North America has been waiting along time for availability of the black NC10 – I still don’t know why, but at last they may be shipping!
Has anyone in the US managed to buy an NC10 yet? let us know!
Update: A forum member has posted on the forum noting that they have phoned Newegg and confirmed they are in stock! Order now if you want to be the first to get one in the US!

Ordered NC10 Black from newegg on Tuesday. Estimated delivery to here in New Jersey – 1/9/2009.

Indeed, I will provide a full report upon receipt of the item. Like the old Looney Toons cartoon, “I will hug it and pet it and squeeze it and make it my very own.”
I asked the .php Magic 8 Ball if it will have screen blotches and it said to Ask Again Later.
The only problem I have with Newegg with the NC10 is that they don’t offer free shipping. It’s hard to justify paying nearly $500 for a netbook, while you can get a 15.4″ laptop with a dual-core processor, 3 GB of memory, 250 GB HDs, larger speakers, albeit with poorer battery life and more weight.
The NC10 needs to be more aggressively priced at $450 in retail, and Newegg should then reduce it to $429 with free shipping to make these things sell.
Received the NC10 Black here in the US. Placed the order earlier this week from newegg and received it in New Jersey on Friday afternoon. Packaging from newegg was great. Screen is blotch-free! This thing is the bees-knees, baby! I’ll post some slick pics and junk…
